Rodney P. Wood
Rod joined Silver Lane’s Advisory Board in 2008. In November 2015 Rod was hired as Team President of The Detroit Lions National Football League. Rod will oversee the business decisions for the franchise. Since 2007 Rod was President and CEO of Ford Estates, LLC, the single family office for the Ford Family of Detroit, Michigan. In that capacity, he directed the delivery of a comprehensive set of financial and lifestyle management services to members of the Ford Family. Rod acts as a key advisor to the family as a group and to individual family members.
Prior to joining Ford Estates, Rod was an executive vice president with Wilmington Trust Company and in charge of their entire wealth management business nationally. Rod managed the personal trust, financial planning, private banking, investment management, family office services and sales functions for the Wealth Advisory business of Wilmington Trust. Rod oversaw 17 offices in 8 states and successfully completed 6 acquisitions or joint ventures while at Wilmington Trust.
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Rod was an executive with two Michigan banking firms in their private banking and commercial banking areas. While at Comerica Bank in Detroit, Rod oversaw 12 offices in 4 states and directed 2 significant joint ventures.
Rod is the former president of the Board of Trustees for the Delaware Art Museum. He is a past Board member of Cramer, Rosenthal and McGlynn, Camden Partners, Balentine and Co., Grant, Tani, Barash and Altman, as well as numerous non-profit organizations.
Rod holds a BBA from the University of Michigan, and a graduate degree in Commercial Banking from the ABA. Rod is a frequent speaker at national events and has been interviewed in the national press on wealth management issues.
